The program is a tribute to Karl Kryl and a reminder of the 56th anniversary of the Soviet occupation. As part of the Salome project, a band of songs by Karel Kryl for voice, harp, clarinet and guitar awaits the audience.
“Salome is an original and unique project by five artists who, in a distinctive and sophisticated way, build on the excellent musical potential of Karel Kryl’s songs and his ever-current lyrics,” the creators state on their Facebook profile. Author’s arrangements of selected Kryl songs for voice, harp, clarinet and guitar were made by Michal Vejskal. The performance in Kdyna will feature Pavel Batěk – vocals, Barbora Plachá – harp, Tomáš Kůgel – clarinet and Petr Šťastný – guitar. Artists with a project dedicated to Karel Kryl have been successfully performing for more than ten years in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. They were also guests at the unique KAREL KRYL 70 concert organized by the Czech Radio Radiožurnál in Prague’s Lucern, from which the Supraphon publishing house released a CD and DVD.
The Salome project is, among other things, a part of the theater performance Tribute to Karl Kryl at the Semafor Theater.
The entrance fee for the event, which is organized by the Municipal Cultural Center of Kdyně, is 250 crowns. Tickets can be bought at the ticket office of the info center or on the website www.mkskdyne.cz.
