Tribeca, Wall Street, Chianatown: the key figures of District 1 in Manhattan

New York City is divided into 5 “boroughs”: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten Island.

Each “borough” is divided into districts: 12 for Manhattan.

Finally, each district is itself divided into neighborhoods which you can see on the map.

The districts present a certain disparity and it is always interesting to compare them. The figures are available on the Official site of the city.

Today we take you to District 1 which includes Tribeca, White Hall, Southern Tip, Chinatown, Civic Center, Ellis Island, Governors Island, Liberty Island, South Street Seaport

🏢 Compared to other districts, 1 is sparsely populated with 61,000 inhabitants (but beware, the last census dates from 2010).

The distribution of women and men is quite homogeneous: 👩‍🦰51% 👨‍🦰49% with, for Manhattan, many children. (In fact, there are few children in all the districts of Manhattan. It is especially necessary to go to Brooklyn or the Bronx to cross many of them).
