Triathlon in Cologne: closed roads

(KS | MH | Archive photo) Today (September 8) the third Carglass Cologne Triathlon has been running since morning. About 3,700 athletes will take part in the event. This is a new reporting table.

The swimming route runs along the right bank of the Rhine, the cycling route stretches through Poll and Deutz to the zoo. The athletes cross the Rhine twice, once over the Severins Bridge and once over the Deutzer Bridge. The running route goes through Deutz and over the Hohenzollern Bridge to the cathedral. This is why some streets in Cologne will remain closed until around 4pm. The city center is affected around the cathedral, the Rhine bank street between Severinsbrücke and Riehler Straße, the Deutzer Bridge (inside the city) and the Severinsbrücke (outside the city), the Rhine promenade in Deutz and east feeder road.
