The board of the Dutch Triathlon Association will resign with immediate effect. The reason for this is the conclusions in a report on social safety within the national training center in Sittard.
The policymakers say in a press release that they “want to make way for a new board that can enter a new phase in confidence and without being burdened by the past”.
Unacceptable behavior
Research agency Fijbes has examined the state of affairs in the training center in recent months. This showed that there had been transgressive behaviour. Group formation, exclusion, gossip and bullying had a negative effect on the atmosphere. “A social dynamic through which important signals are not noticed and/or picked up”, was the conclusion.
The NTB has appointed Rita van Driel as independent social safety adviser with immediate effect.
