Würzburg (dpa / lby) – After the violent death of a baby in Lower Franconia, a man has to answer for murder before the Würzburg district court. The public prosecutor’s office accuses the 23-year-old of repeatedly abusing his former girlfriend and her baby. On December 20, 2019, the situation escalated to such an extent that the eight-month-old boy died. The German is said to have maltreated the defenseless baby in the Gemünden am Main area (Main-Spessart district) with blunt force and eventually suffocated.
The now 21 year old mother found her son lifeless in his bed. The prosecution assumes that the man viewed the child as a nuisance and acted out of low motives. Ten negotiation dates have been planned for the process so far.
