Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) – A 31-year-old has been sentenced to a suspended sentence of two years for drug trafficking at his kiosk at a Frankfurt subway station. The judges of the Frankfurt Regional Court decided on Wednesday to suspend the sentence because the defendant is now successfully participating in therapy. The public prosecutor’s office, which had demanded five and a half years in prison, announced an appeal to the Federal Court of Justice.

After repeated noise nuisance at the pump room and therefore complaints from residents, police officers appeared in January 2018 to check it. The search found more than a kilogram of hashish and marijuana, as well as small amounts of cocaine. In court, the defendant admitted that in addition to his own consumption, he also trafficked the drugs. The criminal chamber therefore determined regular checks and further participation in therapy as a condition of probation.
