New evidence has been received against the woman from Landskrona who was convicted of taking a two-year-old boy to the Islamic State in Syria in 2014. The verdict was appealed and the hearing in the Court of Appeal over Skåne and Blekinge, which should have ended on Friday, is now postponed.
The new evidence has reached the Public Prosecutor’s Office via the US Department of Justice, prosecutor Claudio Gittermann states for Ekot in Swedish Radio.-
The trial will resume on June 2 after the woman was questioned about the new evidence.
The 31-year-old woman was sentenced for her refusal to three years in prison for gross arbitrariness with children. The verdict was handed down in Lund District Court in March.
