Trevor Noah Tears Farewell to ‘The Daily Show’ | Celebrity

“I remember when we started the show, we couldn’t get enough people to fill an audience,” she began. “There were empty seats. And now when I look around… I will never take it for granted,” Noah said, with tears in his eyes. He thanked everyone who watched and witnessed that show. The presenter then turned his attention to the “brilliant” Black women in his life, who he says played a big role in his success. The advice to his audience was, “Talk to Black women if you really want to get to know the United States.”

During his last broadcast, Noah also spoke to all the correspondents of the talk show and received a series of emotional video messages from, among others, the presenter Oprah Winfrey and actress Issa Rae. Comedian Neal Brennen, also a close friend of Noah, guested for the host’s last appearance.

Noah took over from Jon Stewart who had presented the program since 1999. Craig Kilborn was the show’s first on-screen host since 1996.
