✅ The startup entrepreneur who wanted to humiliate Musk is headed to prison

This week, the case of the once promising entrepreneur Trevor Milton was closed. The 41-year-old founder and former head of the American car company Nikola, whom many compared to Elon Musk just a few years ago, was sentenced by a New York tribunal to four years in prison, forfeiture of assets and a fine of one million dollars (over 22 million crowns) for deceiving investors. Milton lied to them about the maturity of Nikola’s technology in order to get them to pour money into his startup’s stock, when in fact he had nothing real in hand.

✅ A flexible amendment to the Labor Code will be created next year

This year, the Ministry of Labor pushed through one of the biggest amendments to the Labor Code in recent years. But his efforts do not end there, as early as the middle of next year he could come up with a so-called flexible amendment to the Labor Code, which employers have been calling for for years. It is inspired by models from Denmark, Germany or Austria.

✅ České Radiokomunikace buys Cloud4com from Komárek

The Czech technology group Aricoma Group, owned by businessman Karel Komárek, has decided to divest after years of acquisition growth. The holding company České Radiokomunikace (CRA) is selling the cloud company Cloud4com (C4C) and the Lužice data center for more than a billion crowns.

✅ Liberty Ostrava operations will stop today, employees will stay at home until January

The company Tameh Czech will stop supplying energy to the metallurgical company Liberty Ostrava on Thursday. Most employees will be at home from Friday to January 2, receiving full pay. Tameh went bankrupt on Tuesday and is shutting down because it ran out of coal. In the bankruptcy petition, he stated that Liberty has not paid him for services for half a year and owes him two billion crowns. This will practically stop the operation of Liberty Ostrava.
