Rookie of the offseason, Trevor Ariza will still have to wait before playing his first game with the Lakers. The 36-year-old winger, who has been absent since the start of Los Angeles franchise training camp, has had surgery on his right ankle and is expected to be out for two months.

The 2009 champion (with the Lakers) will therefore probably miss the first 25 games of the season which will begin on October 19.
