He passed away yesterday evening, Tuesday 19 November 2024, Ermanno Gavazzi. He was 72 years old and was active in the political and administrative life of Treviglio for years.
Ermanno Gavazzi has died
Ermanno Gavazzi was hospitalized in Treviglio hospital for a series of pathologies that had affected him in recent months. A dental technician by profession, he had dedicated part of his life to politics. He was also one of the first to believe in Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia project, reaching the role of deputy provincial secretary in 1997. He subsequently embraced the cause of the Pensioners’ Party, of which he was a leading figure in the area. Between 2022 and 2007 he also held the role of municipal councilor in Treviglio and, from 2004 to 2009, that of provincial councilor in Bergamo. In 2022 he was included in the “Treviglio Civica” list running for mayor of Treviglio Daniele Corbettawhile last May he took the field at the European Championships with “Libertà”.
The condolence
There were many messages of condolence, on social media but not only, for the passing of Ermanno Gavazzi, as soon as the sad news spread. Among the first to remember him was Alessandro Sorte, deputy of Forza Italia, with whom he had shared political activity in the nineties.
“On behalf of myself and the entire Forza Italia community in Lombardy, I express deep condolences for the passing of Ermanno Gavazzi – wrote Sorte in a short note – He was a historic friend of Forza Italia Bergamo, a member of our party for years , in which he also held the role of deputy provincial secretary in 1997. His passing leaves a great void. We are close to the family.”
Funeral on Friday
Already in the early hours of today, Wednesday 20 November 2024, many people went to the funeral home of the Treviglio hospital, where the body of Ermanno Gavazzi was laid, which will be transferred on Friday 22 November 2024 at 9.45am in the church of San Zeno, in via Terni in Treviglio, for the religious function. Ermanno Gavazzi was a well-known figure in the political and administrative life of Treviglio. Both of you have had the opportunity to work with him. Can you tell us about your personal experiences with him and how he contributed to the city and the region?
Guest 1: Absolutely. Ermanno Gavazzi was a dedicated public servant who always put the interests of his community first. His passion for politics and his deep understanding of local issues made him an invaluable asset to our city. During his tenure as a municipal councilor and provincial councilor, he worked tirelessly to address the concerns of the people he served. He was also instrumental in helping us establish “Treviglio Civica” and campaigning for my election as mayor. His loss is deeply felt by everyone here in Treviglio.
Guest 2: I agree with Daniele. Ermanno was a true believer in the idea of public service and he brought that commitment to everything he did. He was a strong supporter of Forza Italia and played a key role in building our party in the region. His support for Silvio Berlusconi’s vision for Italy was unwavering and he was always willing to put in the hard work necessary to make it a reality. His energy and enthusiasm will be greatly missed.
Ermanno Gavazzi was involved in various political parties over the course of his career. How do you think his experience and perspective influenced his approach to politics and his ability to effect change?
Guest 1: I think Ermanno’s experience with different political parties helped him to see the bigger picture and understand the intricacies of policy making. He wasn’t stuck in one ideological box – he was willing to work with anyone who shared his commitment to improving the lives of the people he represented. This pragmatic approach made him an effective leader and advocate for Treviglio.
Guest 2: Absolutely. Ermanno was always open to new ideas and was not afraid to challenge the status quo if he felt it was not serving
