“The Tremblant Foundation and the 24h Tremblant Foundation are once again united, because they work together for the benefit of our communities, by granting us a donation of $200,000 which will be allocated for the acquisition of the building”, explains Catherine Drouin, general manager of the Maison de la famille du Nord.
As the community organization’s lease is coming to an end, it plans to shortly acquire a building located on St-Jovite Street in Mont-Tremblant. A conditional purchase offer was also accepted.
“We have the wind in our sails thanks to the two foundations, which allows us to move forward and really think that things are on time,” adds Ms. Drouin.
The financial objective of the Maison de la famille du Nord is $712,000 to be able to acquire and improve the new building.
“For us, it’s fundamental to have as much support as possible now, because we have to understand that the bigger our pot reserved for that, the smaller our loan and then I can give it all back in service. This is really the purpose of the operation,” says the director general of the Maison de la famille du Nord.
In addition to the Fondation Tremblant and the Fondation du 24h Tremblant, several financial partners were involved. Last May, the City of Mont-Tremblant granted a grant of $237,000 to the community organization.
The Maison de la famille du Nord works for the well-being of families in the region with children aged 0 to 12 and living in the MRC des Laurentides, regardless of their family or financial situation. Currently, 280 families are members of the organization, which represents more than 900 people.
