At the heart of Treguier (Côtes-d’Armor), the major construction site of the Parc des Soeurs du Christ is finally complete. Acceptance of the works took place in the presence of a “dream team”, in the words of the mayor, Guirec Arhant.

Respect for the place

This project provides Tréguier with a “green lung” in the city center, descending almost to the banks of the Jaudy.

Among its designers, there is first Bertrand Paulet, landscape architect who thought and designed the place with his team: David Aznar, and Johann Durantel responsible for the works. The work carried out by SPARFEL with Vincent Prévôt was welcomed by all.

“A Free Space”

Residents were asked to give their opinion.

It is a free space, without constraint, which is open to the lower part of the city, since an entrance has been made on rue du manoir Saint André. A gentle driveway with a 4% slope has been laid out to allow people with reduced mobility, strollers, or quite simply older people to cross the garden.

The tall trees from the top, a cedar, a magnolia, three poplars and mimosas have been kept. There will also be an entrance at the top.

Guirec Arhant recalled: “We did not want to privatize this space, it is on the edge of the historic city, the plantvery present behind the walls of Tréguier, must be seen in this public garden, with perhaps a future connexion with the park of the Baronnais “.

Wooden games, zip line, green amphitheater

Places for different activities have been imagined: wooden play areas for children, a zip line, which fit perfectly into the environment, a green amphitheater for shows, a pond where frogs have already settled, salamanders will not be long, beehives, an arboretum…

Opening before summer

Fruit trees are distributed in the garden, granite benches of Louvigné to rest, everything is designed for the walk, meeting or contemplation….

Project management was led by Olivier Sourdin of LTC services, as well as Laurence Perotin, deputy general manager of the town hall and Christophe Rannou, manager of the town’s technical services.

A search for the name of this park was launched with the inhabitants, but for the moment nothing has been chosen yet, the opening to the public will take place before summer.
