Tree Week in Chartres 2023: Plantations and Events – Laurent Rebours

As part of Tree Week, organized from November 20 to 25, 2023 by the association TREES 28 and environmentthe City of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) decided to participate in the event through several public plantations and entertainment.

Maria Jebli-Chedeville, deputy mayor in charge of Eco-City approach will pilot several plantations throughout this week.

These meetings are planned Wednesday November 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Parc des Clos, Friday November 24 at 2 p.m. (with the Rotary club) and Saturday November 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Grands-Prés.

The City of Chartres intends to play the game of this Tree Week through these events.

She is indeed very invested in the subject with her project “ 1,000 trees ”, by the labeling “ remarkable tree » of ginkgo biloba from the horticultural garden last May and the creation of two “Journey around the trees” trails to discover the diversity of trees in its territory.

An opportunity also to explain the importance of trees in the city and the actions carried out in favor of the preservation of Chartres’ tree heritage.

There will be these public planting meetings but, still as part of Tree Week, the City is planning other animations :

Wednesday November 22 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.: visit to horticultural garden in partnership with the Horticultural Society of Eure-et-Loir. Discovery of the garden, which has more than 80 species. Free visit without registration, meeting in front of the pavilion at the entrance to the garden, on the Avenue d’Aligre side.

Wednesday November 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Apostrophe media library then from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Louis-Aragon library: tree recognition workshops.

Saturday November 25 : screening of documentary films at the Apostrophe: Peasant Landscape at 3:30 p.m., Senonches, a forest of the future at 4:30 p.m.

Friday, November 24 at 2 p.m. at the Carrefour des Trois-Ponts (corner of rue de Launay and rue Saint-Brice) in Chartres.
Saturday November 25 at 10:30 a.m. Grands-Prés, Route des Grands-Prés in Chartres.
