Tree planting in honor of newborns – Dunakanyar Region

When we plant trees, we plant forests, we act for the future of Hungarians, we protect and support our country – announced government spokeswoman Alexandra Szentkirályi on Friday morning, who planted a couple of saplings with Bence Rétvári, the regional parliamentarian, as part of the Forest of Newborns Program in the area of Ipoly Erdő Zrt. near Kisnémedi.

“These thoughts are also reflected in government measures, and we did not compromise on our goals even in difficult times: increasing our country’s forested areas, expanding the current 2 million hectares by an additional 147,000 hectares. This figure corresponds to the size of nearly 200,000 football pitches.

The Newborn Forest Program is a special element of this, where the state forestry farms plant 10 trees per year for every child born in the given county, which results in the growth of 6-700 hectares of forest in our country. During the week of the birth, the weather also showed its nicer face, and with the Secretary of State Bence Rétvári, we also planted a few saplings in the forest of newborns, in Pest county.

The government supports families with a family support system unique in Europe, but we also ensure that children can grow up in a healthy environment. Family subsidies, forest plantations, we are investing in Hungarianness, in the future of Hungarianness!” said the government spokesman.

Environmental protection begins with nature protection, it is very important that environmental protection is shown not only in words, but also in actions – emphasized Bence Rétvári, who added: we protect and protect the forest.

-When we talk about nature conservation, environmental protection, and the protection of our planet, we primarily want to preserve the living environment of the next generations. That is why the government decided to plant at least ten saplings for every child born. Every year, we plant 150 hectares of new forest in Hungary for the joy of how many children are born, so that ten saplings can grow for every child. We are happy about the birth of new life, the birth of children, and the fact that we can plant trees for the joy of their birth – stated the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, who emphasized that Hungary pays the most attention to the birth of children in Europe, and there is no country that fully would spend 4.5 percent of gross national product on family policy, like our country.

Ten hectares of new forest are planted in Pest County every year within the framework of the New Forest Program.

The general manager said that the main tree species in their area of operation are tan and oak, which are planted from acorns.

Sándor Szentpéteri, the head of department of the Ministry of Agriculture, announced that ten million trees will be planted in the country by 2030, in which Ipoly Erdő Zrt. will also participate by planting ten trees for every newborn in Pest and Nógrád counties. In the last three years, he planted 89 hectares of forest, of which 27 hectares were planted within the framework of the Newborn Forest Program.
