On Friday afternoon, an activist managed to penetrate the heavily guarded forest next to VDL Nedcar and settle in a tree. A second activist, who also tried to enter the forest, was arrested, says a spokeswoman for Red het Sterrebos.

Earlier, a woman managed to enter the forest in the night from Thursday to Friday and climb a tree. As a result, there are now four occupiers in the woods near the car factory.
With a ladder over the fences
The man who went into the forest around 4 p.m. Friday joined a tree climber who is lying in a hammock at the edge of the forest on Rijksweg. The man was the only one of two activists who managed to climb over the fences with a ladder, which have been placed around the forest. The other was arrested by security guards and subsequently arrested by the police, the spokeswoman said. In addition, a second activist was arrested on Friday, but the spokeswoman could not say exactly why.

By until decision of the Council of State
The two occupiers, who have been in the trees for a week, announced earlier Friday that they would continue their action this weekend. One of these occupiers said to continue until February 23, if necessary, the last day on which the Council of State can still make a decision in an appeal case against the controversial forest clearing.
Most activists left
The forest was occupied last Friday. At that time 27 people took part. Most have since left or have been arrested due to obligations elsewhere or fatigue. VDL wants to cut down the forest to enable Nedcar to expand.
A solidarity demonstration will be held at the forest on Sunday afternoon.
