Treatment and prevention, Coop Alleanza 3.0 donates 4500 euros to Apro ETS

REGGIO EMILIA – Also in 2024, members of the Cooperative had the opportunity to allocate part of their spending points to support cancer research, prevention and treatment. Thanks to the conversion of the total of these points into economic resources, Coop Alleanza 3.0 supports in Reggio Emilia Appro ETSin particular the Project FOR YOUwhich aims to purchase instruments capable of improving the diagnosis of colon, pancreatic and biliary tract cancer.

A choice of solidarity, with which the Cooperative concretely takes care of the community with the active participation of members: in the Points Collection catalog there is in fact the option to allocate the latter to support cancer prevention and treatment. Beyond 132 thousand people have chosen to contribute by donating part of their points and the Cooperative has given substance to their gesture of generosity by transforming those points into economic resources – in the amount of one euro for every 50 points collected – allocating them to individuals who, in the area, deal with diseases on a daily basis oncological. In the 8 regions in which the Cooperative is present, over 138 thousand euros were collected, of which almost 60 thousand went to the associations in the Emilia-Romagna area.

Chiara Saccani, President of Area Sociale Vasta Reggio Emilia and member of the Board of Directors of Coop Alleanza 3.0 declares Among the objectives of the Cooperative and more generally of cooperation, taking care of people is among the most important. This initiative demonstrates how all of us together, with support for research and treatment, can contribute to building a peaceful future, where oncological diseases can be faced and overcome. I also want to thank the members for the generosity and enthusiasm with which they donated. The phrase “My shopping does more” is not a slogan but means transforming a daily gesture such as shopping into concrete and tangible help for the well-being of our communities and our territories

Thanks to this initiative, which will be held on November 20th at 11 am at the Gastroenterology Digestive Endoscopy Department of Reggio Emilia, Chiara Saccani, President of the Vasta Social Area Reggio Emilia and member of the Board of Directors of Coop Alleanza 3.0, will deliver to Dr. Giovanni FornaciariPresident of Apro ETS a symbolic check of almost 5 thousand euroscollected thanks to the generosity of members. In addition to representatives of Coop members, the event will also be attended by the Dr. Romano SassatelliDirector of the Department of Gastroenterology Digestive Endoscopy, la Dr. Giuliana SereniMedical Director of Gastroenterology and Marina Spaggiari, Vice President of Apro ETS.

The important contribution is intended for the PER TE Project. The Apro ETS association is engaged in the purchase of a latest generation ultrasound machine and echoendoscope ready for the application of artificial intelligence for the Reggio Emilia office. This will allow early diagnosis of pancreatic and biliary tract tumors. Instead, artificial intelligence devices will be purchased to be applied to colonoscopy for all provincial offices, to improve the diagnosis of colorectal polyps and prevent the onset of tumors. Total amount of the project: 400.000 euro.

Dr. Giovanni Fornaciari, former Director of Gastroenterological Medicine and President of Apro ETS, declares: I sincerely thank COOP Alleanza 3.0 for the closeness it has shown to our association in recent years, with which it shares the important value of taking care of people. Apro has been operating for 40 years with the aim of strengthening public healthcare and offering all citizens the best possible care, in welcoming environments and with trained medical staff. A sharing of intent, the one with Coop, which allows us to take an important step forward for our project”.
