Scientists from Bar Ilan University (BIU) in Israel are developing a treatment method leukemia new technology that combines biology with artificial intelligence aka artificial intelligence (TO THE).
Launching ANTARA, the treatment is focused on destroying cancer cells without harming healthy cells.
In the study, published in the journal Nature Communications, BIU researchers used machine learning to identify small molecules that can safely destroy the actin protein in cancer cells.

The actin protein is essential for cancer cells to become active, proliferate and spread.
The researchers focused on detecting and destroying the WASp protein that controls actin in cancer cells.
The scientists successfully tested the process in laboratory experiments on cells taken from patients and mice.
The experiment was carried out with the Sheba Medical Center in central Israel.
In the new treatment, the small molecules can be given to patients by intravenous injection or swallowed directly, the researchers said in the journal.

The new method could replace chemotherapy and other biologic therapies, which may damage other cells in the body and create resistance in cancer cells to treatment, the researchers concluded.
