Thiruvananthapuram: Treasury offices are on the list of government offices that have refused to accept withdrawn Rs 2000 notes. But will be accepted as deposit

Last week, the RBI instructed the banks to stop the circulation of Rs 2000 notes. Then the facility of exchange of notes was also allowed in the banks. However, the finance department clarified that this facility is not applicable to treasuries.

Those who approach the treasury with Rs 2000 notes will be turned away. Rs 2000 notes remaining in treasuries will be deposited in banks.
