treasure hunter accuses FBI of stealing 19th century gold

Dennis Parada, an American treasure hunter, claims to have detected metals in a cave in Pennsylvania in 2018. Failing to succeed in digging, he appealed to the FBI, which he accuses today of having stolen his loot.

This is the story of a treasure hunter who may have had his life’s booty stolen. Dennis Parada, head of Finders Keepers, claims to have detected metals in a cave in Pennsylvania in 2018. Failing to succeed in digging, he appealed to the FBI, but without having the right to attend the excavations.

“I went back the day after they dug, with all my equipment. We couldn’t detect anything. A week or two before that we could detect gold or silver,” he says.

According to the FBI, the cave was empty. But Dennis Parada is convinced otherwise. He actually sued the agency, accusing it of falsifying evidence and concealing records, in order to hide “the discovery of a historical and extremely valuable treasure”.

He recently had access to official videos of the excavations, reports the Associated Press news agency. But nothing proves, at this time, that the FBI would have concealed the gold.

“We have the feeling of having been overtaken”

Dennis Parada is convinced that gold dating from the Civil War was there, according to a local legend, which the American site The Atlantic echoed last summer when recounting the opposition of the treasure hunter and the FBI.

According to the man, the agency dug overnight in the cave in Pennsylvania, found the gold and made it disappear.

“We feel like we’ve been double-crossed, that we’ve been lied to. In the end, the truth will come out. I’ll do whatever it takes, I’ll never stop, I’ll stick with it until I know what happened to that gold,” he said.

Dennis Parada could have claimed 40% of the treasury under US law. Justice must now decide on the accusations of Dennis Parada. The US government, for its part, asked to end the legal proceedings.
