Treasure Found in Beggar’s House in Dakahlia Village After His Death

Residents of the village of Jdeidet Al-Hala, affiliated with the Mansoura Center in Dakahlia Governorate, found bags filled with money of different denominations and currencies, paper and metal, inside a beggar’s house the day after his death.

One of the village residents said that the beggar was called Uncle Hamdi, and he was 78 years old. He died inside his house after his health condition deteriorated. The people donated washing and shrouding tools, and he was buried in the charity cemetery. A day after his death, the people found the treasure he left behind, which consisted of bags filled with money from… All categories.

He added that the deceased had lived in the village alone for 5 years, and none of the neighbors knew anything about his family or relatives except for his sister, who used to visit him in the last month of his life, and he would go out to beg during the day and return at night.

He explained that they were surprised that the deceased had a daughter, but she interrupted him and did not ask about him, but she came when she learned of his death, noting that she entered a room whose father kept the key in his neck and prevented anyone from approaching her, and the day after the death his sister opened it, and she was surprised with bags filled with money of different denominations. Egyptian and foreign, ancient and modern.

The deceased’s neighbor indicated that the police station and the Muslim Money House in the village were notified, and it was decided to reserve the funds until they were counted and inheritance information was obtained, especially since the deceased’s brothers appeared and quarrels occurred between them over the funds.
