The talents are Tre Kronor’s hottest players ahead of the opener against Germany
TAMMERFORS. Tre Kronor’s hottest player is prodigy Leo Carlsson and the hottest chain is the one with Carlsson, Lucas Raymond and Alex Nylander.
– Leo is so calm and sometimes it feels like he’s going to play a J20 match in the dressing room, praises national team captain Sam Hallam.
– He is an extraordinary talent. Incredibly skilled with the puck and has a very good game sense, pays tribute to the legendary Nicklas Lidström.
Tonight, Tre Kronor makes its World Cup debut against Germany in the Nokia Arena in Tampere.
At 19.20 the puck is released and the focus is directed towards perhaps the team’s most offensive chain with Lucas Raymond (born 2002), Leo Carlsson (2004) and Alex Nylander (1998). One of the youngest WC chains that Tre Kronor has patterned throughout time.
A conceivable name for the chain is “young guns”, considering the young age of the attackers.
– We have not given a name to the chain. I call Leo, then the chain jumps in. Always calls out to the center. But there is probably creativity among the press that can find a funnier name, says union captain Sam Hallam.
Looking at the practice matches, the Leo chain has been productive and the tributes are many and long.
Both within Tre Kronor and outside. Detroit legend Nicklas Lidström does not live up to the praise.
– Leo is an extraordinary talent. Incredibly skilled with the puck and has a very good game sense. Strong skating and it will be fun to follow him during the WC where the pace is higher than in the SHL. He is among the best in the world in his age group.
Both Sam Hallam and Jacob de la Rose follow Leo Carlsson’s journey from up close and they try to describe the teenager’s greatness, on the ice and off the sidelines.
– Leo is so calm and it feels like he is going to play a J20 match sometimes in the dressing room. Then he has a center game that is a little different and he breaks off the ice, says Hallam.
– Above all, Leo has grown on the ice and among other things has become stronger on the puck. Then he is skilled especially because he is so tall. He is curious and wants to learn a lot. He questions about everything possible in the dressing room, can be about drawings or defense in own zone. It’s awesome to play with him, says Jacob de la Rose.
