He is an American rapper Travis ScottHe expressed his amazement at the controversy surrounding his concert, which is scheduled to take place in Egypt on July 28, stressing that he does not practice strange rituals, as was reported.
Travis said, in an official statement issued Thursday evening, from the concert organizer to respond to all that was said about him in the past days, saying: “To whom it may concern, I am writing to you to address the scandalous and inaccurate reports that called for the cancellation of my concert in Egypt.
And Travis demonstrated the sincerity of his position with his concert that he held in Saudi Arabia and his “success in it,” saying: “I just succeeded, incredibly, in the Saudi Arabia concert, which was held last April, in front of a crowd of 70,000 fans and there was no problem, or a whirlwind.”
During the statement, Travis Scott affirmed his innocence, writing: “I also saw mention of security concerns related to my concert and extreme, specifically the unfortunate “AstroWorld” tragedy in 2021. Please know that I have performed hundreds of concerts, prior to that event, and many concerts since then, without a single incident, and a grand jury in Houston has proven me innocent of any charges related to the incident.
He stressed, “Nothing in my music lends itself to any kind of ‘exotic’.. I am a huge fan of the Egyptians, their culture and their history, and that is why I chose the iconic Pyramids of Giza to perform the songs of my new album.”
The statement ended by saying, “Please do not let an online spread of false information and hate, derail this event which will bring positive and international attention to Egypt, its economy, and its amazing treasures. I implore you to do everything in your power to allow the show.”
The Syndicate of Musical Professions in Egypt had issued a media statement stating the cancellation of the concert, but according to what Al-Araby Al-Jadeed learned from sources in the Syndicate, there may be a retreat from the Syndicate in the next few hours and a return to allow the concert to be held again, especially since during the past two days the Musicians Syndicate received numerous calls to try to dissuade him from his position on some officials in the Ministries of Tourism and Antiquities.
