Travis Scott no longer welcome at Coachella after Astroworld drama | Festivals and concerts

Sources close to Coachella’s organization tell Variety that Scott would no longer be welcome at the festival, where he was previously announced as the headlining act. A petition was launched a few days after the Astroworld drama, demanding that the rapper be banned from performing at the California music festival. The petition has already been signed nearly 60,000 times on Sunday.

While Coachella hasn’t released an official statement about Scott yet, Variety says it’s “hard to imagine Scott performing at a music festival in the near future.”

Earlier this week, Scott stated in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God that he was unaware of the fatal crowding in the crowd during Astroworld for a long time. The rapper says he only learned that people had died a few minutes before a press conference after the show ended.

At the Astroworld Festival in Houston, USA, where 50,000 people attended, ten festival-goers were killed in early November and dozens were injured by crowding on the field. How the situation got so out of hand during the festival is still being investigated.
