Secret the star.
In your opinion, what can be due to the success of the great American stars? Apparently, that of Travis Barkerhusband of Kourtney Kardashian and drummer in particular of the group Blink-182, is due enema of the colon with mineral water. Yes, you read correctly. No, it’s not a joke… at least not on our part. It was Travis himself who, in a video in collaboration with Liquid Death, highlighted his own enema kit, named “Enema of the State”, a nod to the homonymous album released in 1999 and produced by Blink-182, a pop punk group in which our star was a drummer. Coming with an enema bulb and a can of Liquid Death mineral water that Travis has autographed, the $182 kit (have it?) is already “sold out”. The brand and itself specify that the kit coming in this collaboration is not to be used like a medical enema, but to be considered as a work of art… for adults. A bit like the Hoop Head, the result of a previous collaboration between the brand and Jalen Green, to be found here.
In the United States, some celebrities promote enemas as a way to detoxify the body and ease constipation. This is the case, for example, of Gwyneth Paltrow, an actress converted into a health or nutrition advisor through her Goop site. In 2018, she recommended washing with coffee, which was quickly decried by the medical community, which actually announced it as dangerous and useless. Is it the same for the enema that Travis promotes?
Not exactly. First, Travis’ campaign has a definite humorous purpose, and shouldn’t be taken seriously, as the brand’s DNA dictates (remember its previous campaigns). Also, despite having a video focused around using this kit, it does make clear at its end that Enema of the State should not be used on yourself or your friend… without consulting your friend or your doctor first.
The brand motto, “Our evil mission is to make people laugh and drink more water more often, while helping to end plastic pollution.“is accompanied by his signature”Murder Your Thirst”, “Kill your thirst”, which you can find in the spot. Definitely, “punk marketing” continues to progress with Liquid Death.
