Muscat: The Supreme Court order mandating the Institutional Quarantine for those arriving in Oman will come into effect from today (Monday). Quarantine is mandatory for both nationals and foreigners arriving on a visitor visa.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has directed airlines to ensure hotel bookings before departure. Hotel bookings must be made by 7 p.m. Passengers can book quarantine at any hotel in the country. The quarantine facility in hotels prescribed by the Ministry of Social Development in various governorates can also be utilized.
Institutional quarantine was made mandatory after it was found that many people in the country have not yet been granted a quarantine permit in their homes.
