Travelers to New Zealand must be vaccinated

People wishing to travel to New Zealand must be fully vaccinated from November 1. This has been announced by corona minister Hipkins. Non-citizens can only travel to the country if they have a valid work or residence permit.

For the time being, international tourists are not yet welcome. Should the travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand reopen, Australians will only be able to travel to New Zealand provided they have had two shots.

Additional requirements for travel

Travelers must still be quarantined for fourteen days upon arrival and must be able to submit a negative corona test of a maximum of 72 hours old. Young people under the age of 17 are not required to show a vaccination certificate to enter the country. Travelers must first register online and then show their proof of vaccination to the airline and to the customs officer.

According to Hipkins, the measure now being implemented is an important step to gradually reopen the country. This is partly due to the fact that more and more people are vaccinated in New Zealand.

Air New Zealand will require international travelers to be fully vaccinated before flying. This measure will come into effect in February and will not apply to people who are 18 years and younger and to people who are not allowed to receive an injection for medical reasons.
