Travelers reunited after months with their motorhomes stranded in Morocco

When travelers were repatriated by flight in March due to the coronavirus outbreak, their campers were left behind in Morocco. The cars have been at a campsite in Marrakesh all those months.

The intention was that the travelers would pick up their campers later in the year, but the negative travel advice continued to apply throughout the year for Morocco. That is why the Dutch Camper Club (NKC) has launched a shipping campaign. The club did this in collaboration with the Dutch embassy in Morocco, Broekman Logistics and insurance broker Aon.

“It was a complicated operation,” says NKC director Stan Stolwerk. He is relieved that it worked.

Today the owners were able to collect their campers corona proof in the port of Amsterdam. “It is fantastic to see all those happy faces together. A wonderful Sinterklaas present”, says Stolwerk.
