– The captain was furious
On arrival in Tenerife, the next discouraging message arrives: they must be flown on to Alicante, a three-hour flight, where they will spend the night.
According to the father of the family, they were not allowed to leave the plane in Tenerife and told the newspaper that he felt like a prisoner.
– All the cabin crew cried. They were in a position of no power and had to clean up the mess. The crew told me the captain was “screaming and furious,” he says.

The plane does not arrive in Alicante until the night of Sunday 22 October, where the travelers are scheduled to be driven to Benidorm and the temporary hotel, but the experience at the airport makes the father of the family furious.
– We waited 40 minutes for our luggage, 30 minutes to get on the bus and when we finally arrived in Benidorm at a quarter past 5 in the morning, we had to stand outside in the cold in a queue, he tells the Manchester Evening News.

A spokesperson for Jet2 told the Manchester Evening News that the reason the flight from Manchester to Lanzarote was diverted to Alicante was the weather.
– We would like to apologize to all our customers who were affected by the unforeseen delay, which was beyond our control, says the spokesperson for Jet2 to the newspaper.
