Moroccan and international travelers flying to the European Union must take into account stricter rules for liquids and gels in their hand luggage from September 1. The European Union is introducing restrictions that were previously relaxed.
In concrete terms, this means that liquids in hand luggage are again limited to bottles of a maximum of 100 ml, instead of the 125 ml that was allowed recently. All liquids must also go into one transparent plastic bag, with a maximum capacity of one litre.

These safety rules have been in place since 2006, but were relaxed at some airports, such as Frankfurt, due to the introduction of new CT scanners. These scanners, based on medical technology, quickly create a 3D image of the bag’s contents. However, the European Union doubts the reliability of these new scanners, so the old rules will come into effect again.

Pending further research on the scanners, the breaks no longer apply. Although liquids may remain in hand luggage when checked with the new scanners, they must be removed from the traditional scanners still in use at many European airports. Electronic devices must also be scanned individually with these scanners.
