Tyrol: Leisure park with summer toboggan run in Wildschönau
Oberau (dpa / tmn) – There is a new amusement park in the Tyrolean Wildschönau holiday region. The family experience Drachental Wildschönau is located in the center of Oberau, the highlight is a summer toboggan run – the 1,400 meter long kite runner. In addition, the outdoor area offers various other attractions for children such as mountain bike trails, parcours, diving platforms and a trampoline, according to Wildschönau Tourismus. Entry into Austria is possible for those who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered from Covid-19 and those who have tested negative. (www.drachental.at)
USA: See New York from above in a new way
New York (dpa / tmn) – From autumn, the Manhattan skyline can be admired from a new viewing platform. The Summit called attraction is located on the 427 meter high skyscraper One Vanderbilt at Grand Central Station in Midtown Manhattan. According to the New York City Tourism Board, it will offer views of the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building and Central Park, among others. A glass bottom ensures a thrill. The official opening is planned for October 21, 2021. There are already some well-known viewing platforms in New York – for example the observation deck on the Empire State Buildung , the One World Observatory at the One World Trader Center, Top of the Rock on the Rockefeller Center and The Edge in Hudson Yards.
Mississippi: Big extension of the BB King Museum
Indianola (dpa / tmn) – The museum in honor of the blues icon BB King (1925-2015) in the US state of Mississippi has been expanded. The new exhibition space is about the last ten years of the musician’s life. For example, you can see Kings Rolls-Royce and his tour bus. The memorial garden around the grave of the world star has also been redesigned, according to the state’s tourist office. The B.B. King Museum in Indianola opened in 2008. Tourist trips to the USA are currently not yet possible.
