Travel is Restricted Except for Delivery of the Body and Childbirth

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Ministry of Communications (Ministry of Transportation) will limit travel people during the Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijri holiday as a follow-up to the Task Force Circular (SE) Number 15 of 2021 concerning Restrictions on Community Activities During the 1442 Hijri Eid Al-Adha Holiday During the Covid-19 Pandemic Period.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, said that the rules would come into effect on July 19 or the day after the SE Task Force took effect. For information, the restrictions on activities during Eid al-Adha by the Covid-19 Task Force are valid for the period July 18-25, 2021.

Adita said that as long as the SE is in effect, intercity travel is only permitted for workers in critical and essential sectors or urgent travelers.

The urgent travel agents in question are seriously ill patients, pregnant women with the assistance of 1 family member, the interests of childbirth with a maximum of 2 people, and non-covid-19 corpse carriers with a maximum of 5 people.

“This applies to all public transportation, whether air, sea, land, train and for private vehicles,” he explained at a press conference on Saturday (17/7) night.

Critical and essential sector workers are also required to include a Worker Registration Certificate (STRP) or other certificate issued by the local government and/or an assignment letter signed by the company leadership with a minimum rank of echelon II.

In addition, travelers must present a vaccination card for at least the first dose.

Meanwhile, specifically for air transportation travelers to and from Java-Bali Island, they are required to show a negative PCR swab test result which is valid for 2×24 hours.

For air travelers outside Java and Bali, they are required to include the results of a PCR swab valid for 2×24 hours or a rapid antigen test valid for 1×24 hours.

“Travelers who travel long distances to and from the island of Java and Bali are required to show an antigen/PCR test,” he added.

However, the provisions showing vaccination certificates as a requirement to leave the area are excluded for logistics distribution vehicles and those classified as having urgent needs.

On the other hand, travelers under 18 years old are restricted from July 19-25 July.
