Travel Alert: New York City Warns of Possible Flooding and Transportation Disruptions

New York City leaders warn of possible flooding and urge residents to use caution, especially while traveling. The New York City Department of Emergency Management issued a travel warning for all of Friday and Saturday in the morning. Major public transportation systems in the metropolitan area, including Amtrak, PATH, LIRR, Metro North, NJ Transit, subway and ferries, may experience delays, rerouting and cancellation of service due to weather conditions.

The New York City Department of Emergency Management issued a travel warning for all of Friday and Saturday morning.

Major public transportation systems in the metropolitan area, including Amtrak, PATH, LIRR, Metro North, NJ Transit, subway and ferries, may experience delays, rerouting and cancellation of service due to weather conditions.

The MTA warned that available subway service is extremely limited due to heavy flooding caused by rain and that service may be suspended at certain stations. For example, northbound A/C/E trains are delayed and there is no eastbound E train between the World Trade Center and W 4 St-Wash Sq.

Additionally, F service is suspended in Brooklyn due to flooding at stations, as is G service in both directions.

Long Island Rail Road honors MetroCard holders between Jamaica and Grand Central Madison/Penn Station.
