Traveling abroad this summer outside the European Union is possible. But only in certain cases and especially in certain countries. The government updated Thursday evening, June 24 its list of countries where it is possible to travel according to the criterion of three colors: green where the virus circulates little, orange where it circulates actively but in controlled proportions, and red where one can only go with the help of a compelling motive.
And among the green countries, ten new ones appear in the government list, bringing their total number to 17. These are Albania, Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, Hong Kong, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, Taiwan and Vanuatu. The United States, South Korea, Canada, or even Israel, Japan and Lebanon were already present, not to mention the countries of the European Area (EU, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, Saint -Marin, Switzerland and the Holy See). For these countries, only proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test is required upon arrival in France.

New countries in red
For orange countries where the virus is circulating but is globally under control without worrying dissemination of variants, a negative PCR or antigen test of less than 48 hours or proof of vaccination is required upon arrival in France. A compelling reason is also claimed unless one is vaccinated, specifies the government. A certificate of exit from the territory is available on the website of the Ministry of the Interior, but it is necessary to check the reception conditions in the country in question.

Finally, for countries in the red zone, where the virus is actively circulating, to arrive in France an overriding or urgent health reason, or even a professional reason, is necessary. A negative PCR test of less than 48 hours, a sworn statement and a commitment to isolate oneself for a week on French territory is also required. In the event of non-vaccination, a ten-day quarantine is imposed and monitored by the security forces. To leave France for a red country, you also need an overriding personal or family reason. The countries in the red zone are: Afghanistan, South Africa, Argentina, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guyana, India, Maldives, Namibia, Nepal, Pakistan, Paraguay, Russia, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Uruguay. Russia, Namibia and Seychelles having joined this list on June 23.
