Apple has been working on the device for years, which will be able to replace the iPhone in a way that will keep all its strengths.
The first step in the succession is said to be started next year by the bitten apple giant with a powerful AR headset,

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at the well-known and hitherto reliably informed source, is the source of unconfirmed news in the international computer press, including Business Insider and the 9To5Mac.
First, Apple’s AR headset processor has “Mac-level computing power, will be able to run on its own without relying on either a Mac (PC) or an iPhone (phone), and will support a comprehensive range of applications rather than specific applications ’.
Kuo writes in a note to investors that Apple aims to replace the iPhone with the AR headset within 10 years:

The device, expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2022, will be “equipped with two processors: the high-end processor will have similar computing power as the Apple Mac M1, while the other processor will perform sensor-related calculations”.
He predicts it will be equipped with two Sony 4K micro-OLED displays and is expected to support VR as well.
Apple’s AR headset requires a separate processor because the computing power requirement of the sensor will be significantly higher than that of the iPhone. For example, an AR headset requires at least 6 to 8 optical modules to provide users with continuous video-watching AR services at the same time. In comparison, the iPhone requires up to 3 optical modules at a time and does not require continuous computing.
Kuo also says that “if the headset is only positioned as an accessory for your Mac or iPhone, it won’t help the product succeed. The stand-alone AR headset means it will have its own ecosystem and provide the most complete and flexible user experience ”. However, this part of the report contradicts the information from The Information that this product is still in use It will need to be connected to an iPhone to work.
It is not known what the headset coming from next year will look like, but previous rumors suggest at least two versions currently under development. The first Apple headset is reported to look more like an Oculus Quest virtual reality headset rather than a goggle, while the “slimmer”, more wearable device that is more reminiscent of sunglasses is said to be ready by 2023.
The long-rumored headset is said to be the successor to the iPhone and is intended to replace the smartphone with augmented reality headsets.
