The organization of the Transvulcania 2021 that was going to be held from October 27 to 31, has communicated that the planned test is suspended, due to “the catastrophe that we are experiencing in La Palma”.
Official statement that reads the following:
The catastrophe that we are experiencing on La Palma, with hundreds of families who have lost their homes, also businesses, prevents us from celebrating Transvulcania 2021, scheduled for the last days of October.
A week after the eruptive process began, the lava continues to threaten the infrastructures of our people, of our people, without anyone being able to set a date for its completion.
The Organization of Transvulcania decided at the beginning of the eruption, to wait the necessary time to decide whether or not it was possible to continue with the test, a complex decision because we know that in addition to a sporting event it is always an economic injection for La Palma
Each and every one of the runners will now have two options: return 100% of the registration or transfer the registration to the May 2022 edition, which must be communicated through the email [email protected]
