Transportation in Durango (Mexico) will continue to confiscate Uber vehicles
José Jorge Campos Murillo, undersecretary of mobility and transportation of Durango (Mexico), pointed out that the protection referred to by the Uber company does not empower him to provide the public transport service.
“This only refers to the State Congress considering Uber as an electronic platform in the new transportation law that the legislature itself is about to issue,” Campos said.
“It is not exclusive to Uber, because in Durango there are more electronic platforms, but these have a concession,” he said.
The representatives of this platform give it a wrong interpretation under federal protection.
However, in the use of the powers granted by the law and the Transport Regulations, through the inspectors department, vehicles that without a permit or concession provide the public transport service will continue to be withdrawn from circulation.
Likewise, he assured that transport platforms are welcome, as long as they work as required by law and have a concession granted by the state government.
