It’s finally the weekend. Below you’ll find a quick guide, based on information from the MTA, of the major service changes planned for the city’s subways and rails.
Train 4 in Brooklyn
Due to the station development work, from 11:30 pm Friday to 5:00 am Monday, 4 trains will not run in Brooklyn. 4 trains run from Woodlawn and Bowling Green.
Commuters who normally take the 4 train in Brooklyn are advised to take the 2 and 3 trains.
5 trains in Manhattan
As a result of the station’s development work, the 5 trains between the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and Bowling Green will not stop in each direction throughout Saturday and Sunday.
The MTA advises passengers to take 4 trains between these stations.
5 trains run every 12 minutes during the day and night between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall. They will make local stops between 125th Street and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, and uptown trains will skip 68th Street-Hunter College.
There will be A, C, D and Q trains in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan
Due to a signal change, between 11:30 pm Friday and 5:00 am Monday, trains will not run between 145th Street and 4th Street West Washington Square in both directions; C trains will not run; D trains will not run between 145th Street and 42nd Street-Bryant Park in either direction; and Q trains will not run between 96th Street and Times Square-42nd Street in either direction.
The A trains run in two sections: between Inwood-207th Street and 145th Street, making local stops; and between Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and West 4th Street-Washington Square, on the F to 63rd Street / Lexington Avenue, and on the Q to 96th Street. Train stops locally between West 4th Street-Washington Square and Euclid Avenue throughout the weekend.
D trains run in two sections: between Norwood-205th Street and 145th Street, and between 42nd Street-Bryant Park and Coney Island-Stillwell. Abh.
Q trains run between Times Square-42nd Street and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.
F and G train in Brooklyn
Due to signal upgrade work, between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, G trains from Hoyt-Schermerhorn to Church Avenue will not stop in either direction, and F trains bound for Manhattan will make an express stop between Kings Highway and Jay Street – MetroTech.
G trains run in two segments: between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and Hoyt-Schermerhorn, every 20 minutes.
J and M train in Brooklyn and Manhattan
Due to structural repairs, between 11:45pm on Friday and 5am on Monday, J trains will not run between Hewes Street and Broad Street in both directions. M trains, for their part, will not run between Myrtle Avenue and Delancey Street-Essex Street in either direction.
S trains in Queens
Rockaway Park Shuttle trains will not run between 11:45pm Friday and 5am Monday.
Free shuttle buses run from Beach 67th Street to Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Street, and will make all stops between Beach 90th Street and Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Street.
4, 5 and 6 trains in Manhattan
Due to access improvement work, between 9:45 pm Friday and 5:00 am Monday, the uptown commuter trains 4, 5 and 6 will not stop at 68th Street-Hunter College.
7 trains in Queens
Due to a new route, between 11:45 pm Friday and 3:30 am Monday, 7 trains with a connection to Flushing will stop quickly from 74th Street-Broadway to Mets-Willets Point.
7 trains run every eight minutes during the day and night.
L trains in Brooklyn
Due to the station’s development work, between 11:45 pm Friday and 12:00 pm Saturday, Manhattan-bound L trains will not stop at Bedford Avenue. Between 11:45pm Saturday and 12:00pm Sunday, Canarsie-bound L trains will not stop at Bedford Avenue.
