BRUSSELS – Car and truck manufacturers fear that their factories in Russia will be used for war purposes. The ACEA, the European umbrella organization for car manufacturers, warns against this BNR.
All factories of car and truck brands in Russia and Ukraine have been shut down because of the war. ACEA Director General Eric-Mark Huitema is concerned about the situation. There are fears that Russia may want to use the factories for war purposes.
“There are a number of factories that are rumored to be confiscated by Russia for the use of military equipment. Quite a lot of trucks are made in Russia. Volvo has a large factory. They can of course use those trucks if those lesser Russian trucks are finished. and sometimes go along the way’, he says in BNR program De Nationale Autoshow.
