Transport. Metzange relay-car park: 10 to… 40 €, subscription

February 15?

“During February. »Clémence Pouget, in charge of regional planning and cross-border development strategy for the Portes de France agglomeration, is reassuring. In the end, very little impacted by the health crisis, the Metzange park and ride site, which began at the end of 2019, is nearing completion. Its commissioning, which responds to a “vital need” for a Moselle-Nord region suffocated for a long time by road traffic, should take place around February 15. Breathing for daily users of the A31.

750 places

As a reminder, this new area, with a total surface area of 33,000 m², will be equipped with 750 parking spaces. That is to say a gain of 350 places compared to the initial offer, of fortune, which led to the car park of the Kinepolis cinema complex. Note also that the site will be served by a cycle path and will have parking spaces for bicycles. For those followers of soft mobility, the right of access will prove to be symbolic.

6,3 M€

“We are very proud of it. »Clémence Pouget alludes to the unprecedented financing of this park-and-ride, the total cost of which amounts to € 6.3 million. In addition to the traditional “donors” such as the State, the Grand Est Region, Portes de France and the Department of Moselle, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg also supports this structuring project. Support in the sense of “contributes” financially, in a significant way even, assuming 46% of the total budget. Or an envelope of € 2.92 million. A first (before others?) Which will be a milestone.

10 €

The terms of access to this P + R were specified during the last council of the Portes de France urban community. To enter the infrastructure, you will need a subscription card to be collected from Citéline stores, the bus network serving the 35 SMiTU Thionville Fensch member municipalities. Because let’s not forget: the purpose of this park and ride is to make life easier for cross-border users of cross-border bus lines (300 and 301) heading to Luxembourg. The monthly price for this precious sesame is € 10 per month for residents of the agglomeration; and flies to 40 € for the “outside”. Needless to say, this difference in treatment pursues a clearly assumed objective: “To privilege the inhabitants who live on our territory”.
