Transport Company in Mladá Boleslav Utilizes Biogas Station: Innovative Partnership with Iveco Zliner

The transport company will use the city’s biogas station.

The Iveco Zliner dealer won the competition for the supply of 17 biogas-powered buses for the Mladá Boleslav Transport Company. The European subsidy will mostly pay for the delivery.

It follows from the information in register of contracts and from the press release of the city. One bus costs 6.75 million crowns without VAT, the total value of the contract is 114.75 million crowns without VAT. According to information on the contractor’s profile, Zliner defeated SOR Libchavy in the competition. The estimated price was 15 million crowns higher.

According to the contract, the first four pieces are to be delivered by the end of November this year, and the others gradually by 2027. Thanks to this, the transport company will continue the gradual renewal of the vehicle fleet, which took place between 2017 and 2021, when 21 new buses were put into operation with the support of funds from the Integrated Territorial Development Plan (IPRÚ).

“We have the great advantage that we have built our own biogas station in Plazy, which the new buses will use. Thanks to this, we can co-finance CNG buses from ITI, while otherwise we would have to buy hydrogen or electric buses, which are significantly more expensive and there would be fewer of them for the same money.” explained first deputy mayor Jiří Boušek.
