Transport Authority Conducts Over 200,000 Inspections in Saudi Arabia’s Vehicle Transport Sector

Jeddah: The Transport Authority has conducted more than 200,000 inspections in the vehicle transport sector in Saudi Arabia last month. The highest number of violations were found in the road freight transport system. The authority said that the inspection will continue vigorously in collaboration with various departments.

Strong inspections are going on in the country to detect violations in the transport sector. For this, Public Transport Authority has started special field campaigns in collaboration with various departments. Last month alone, 2,19,000 inspections were conducted in the road transport sector.

This will include 2,15,000 public transport vehicles and 235 foreign vehicles. Most of the violations were found in road freight vehicles. 2100 inspections each were carried out in road transport establishments and maritime transport establishments.

31,000 violations have been detected during road traffic inspections. About 2800 law violations were also detected through automatic monitoring through cameras. In August, the highest number of violations were recorded in the eastern region.

7500 violations were reported in the eastern region. 7000 in Riyadh region, 6700 in Makkah region and 1500 in Tabuk region are the other regions that reported the highest number of violations.
