Transnistrian Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev Summoned for Questioning on Charges of Treason: Ukrainian Media

The head of the Transnistrian Foreign Ministry, Vitaly Ignatiev, was “officially summoned” by the Kyiv authorities for questioning on charges of “treason.” This was reported today, January 9, by the telegram channel of the Moldovan TV6 Live with reference to Ukrainian media, which claim that the Pridnestrovian minister, in addition to the Russian one, also has a Ukrainian passport.

Ignatiev is allegedly charged with “public calls for changing the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine in violation of the order established by the Constitution of Ukraine, and carrying out information activities aimed at supporting the aggressor state and its occupation administration.”

The source writes that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Transnistria may be put on the international wanted list “if he does not appear before the prosecutor’s office of Ukraine.” Tiraspol does not comment on this message in any way.

Earlier, the Ukrainian agency “Slidstvo” and the Moldovan RISE Moldova wrote that until February 2022, when the section of the Transnistrian-Ukrainian border was closed, many Transnistrian officials (Foreign Minister Ignatiev, Prime Minister Alexander Rosenberg and the president Vadim Krasnoselsky) traveled with Ukrainian passports and even supposedly have business and real estate in a neighboring country.

Let us remind you that the Ambassador of Ukraine in Chisinau Marko Shevchenko has already stated that Russia poses a threat to Moldova, and the Kremlin has included Chisinau in the “single list with Ukraine.” Therefore, the reintegration of the Republic of Moldova directly depends on where the front line will be. According to the Ukrainian diplomat, his country is ready to offer the Republic of Moldova “legal assistance, up to the detention and extradition” of Transnistrian leaders who have Ukrainian citizenship.

At the same time, the Kiev regime has repeatedly persistently offered Chisinau assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the liberation of Transnistria from “Russian occupiers and separatists.”
