Translucent 300 thousand units, these are the three best-selling cars

Jakarta

PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) recorded a good sign from January to November 2022. Japanese auto giant says it saw an increase wholesalers (factory to dealer distribution) with sales exceeding 303,000 units, an increase of approximately 15.2 percent over the same period last year.

As of the end of last November, the overall sales of four-wheelers in the domestic automotive market had reached more than 941,000 units and this figure had increased by 19.2% compared to the same period in 2021. During the same period, Toyota recorded sales for more than 303,000 units, an increase of about 15.2% and this brought Toyota’s market share this year to 32.2%.

“We are grateful that this has also received a positive response from customers as seen by sales growth of more than 15.2% so that our market share is now at 32.2%. We appreciate the government’s efforts to build a positive economic climate and we thank the people of Indonesia who continue to trust Toyota as their leading choice to meet mobility,” PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) director deputy president Henry Tanoto said in his statement quoted on Sunday (11/12/2022 ).

The three biggest contributors to Toyota’s sales this year are Avanza (55,576 units), Rush (41,470 units), and Kijang Innova (40,926 units). To appeal to Indonesian consumers, throughout 2022 Toyota has unveiled 15 new models, from conventional models, GAZOO Racing and electrified vehicle options.

TAM also stimulated the market this year by releasing electrification. The All New Toyota bZ4X, the first Toyota EV Battery, and the All New Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix, the first locally produced Toyota Hybrid EV.

“The reception from the public is very enthusiastic and encouraging. In fact, the total orders or SPK for Toyota’s newest hybrid car, the Kijang Innova Zenix, has reached nearly 4,000 units, even though it hasn’t been launched for a month, with 82% of the composition are the Innova Zenix Hybrid and Q Hybrid TSS types which are the most in demand, with SPK reaching 1,578 units,” said PT TAM Marketing Director, Anton Jimmi.

In 2022, in addition to introducing more electrified vehicle models to the domestic auto market, Toyota Indonesia is also strengthening its commitment in efforts to support the government-launched Carbon Neutrality program with Indonesia’s net-zero emissions (NZE) goal in 2060.

Through the MultiPathway strategy, Toyota seeks to make this happen by introducing electrified vehicles with various environmentally friendly technologies accessible to the wider community. So far, through the Toyota and Lexus brands, TAM has presented 15 vehicle models with electrification technology, both those with Battery EV, Plug-in Hybrid EV, and Hybrid EV technology.

Meanwhile, from 2009 to November 2022, Toyota has shipped a total of more than 7,814 electrified vehicles and has also helped reduce carbon emissions by nearly 8,500 tons. When viewed from Toyota’s total electrification sales, the hybrid model dominates the sales with almost over 95% composition.

“Among the 15 electrification models that TAM has, it can fill various segments. The public can also choose the electrification technology that suits their mobility and daily lifestyle needs so that they can directly contribute to the reduction of emissions of carbon through the use of environmentally friendly vehicles”. Henry said.
