Transjakarta Bus hit a pedestrian near the SMK 57 bus stop, South Jakarta, at around 21.50 WIB, Monday (6/12). As a result, the victim with the initials RH died.
Head of Sub-Directorate for Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Argo Wiyono said the accident began when the TransJakarta bus had just passed from the SMK 57 stop towards the Klender pool.
“Bus SAF 035 (bus returning to the pool) hit a pedestrian who suddenly emerged from the guardrail,” Argo told reporters, Tuesday (7/12).
Argo said the victim died at the scene. The victim was evacuated to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital for further treatment.
According to him, the Transjakarta bus driver has been secured and is being investigated intensively. Temporary suspicion that the accident occurred due to weather conditions and lack of lighting at the location.
“Due to weather conditions, there is lack of lighting and pedestrians are also crossing inappropriately,” he said.
For information, before the accident that killed pedestrians, there had been two accidents involving Transjakarta buses on Monday (6/12) yesterday.
First, the Transjakarta bus hit the separator busway on Jalan Pramuka in the early hours of the morning while trying to avoid a truck mixer. Second, the Transjakarta bus hit a wall in Puri Beta when the driver left it to urinate.
