Accident involving Trans Jakarta occurred in the Kebon Sirih area in central Jakarta. A TransJakarta bus with the B-7003-SGX license plate hit an elderly man with the symbol FNR to death (62).
The incident occurred on Friday (28/10) around 9:30 pm WIB. The victim died while being treated in the hospital.
“The victim was injured in the back of the head, torn, in the right leg from the back of the thigh to the calf, blisters and bruises. The incident started when Trans Jakarta driven by a man with the initials S (33) drove on Jalan MH Thamrin from Kebon Sirih towards Blok M. When he arrived at the red light in Kebon Sirih, the bus then hit the victim who was walking from east to west.
“When he was about to turn, he hit a pedestrian with the initials FNR who was walking east to west, knocking the victim over,” Edy said.
Edy said the victim was rushed to the hospital. However, the elder’s life was not saved and she died at Tarakan Hospital.
Police are still investigating the incident. Initial examination revealed that the accident occurred due to driver negligence.
“Presumably lack of caution and focus,” Edy concluded.
