Footage from the scene

Kochi: Transgender woman threatened to commit suicide in front of Aluva police station. Anna Raju, a transgender woman, climbed the banyan tree in front of the station on Wednesday morning and threatened to commit suicide. Anna Raju, who threatened to commit suicide on top of the tree for four hours, was brought down by the fire force officials.

On March 17, Anna Raju alleged that the police did not take action on the complaint filed by transgender women from other states that they had been assaulted. The woman, who came to the station on Wednesday morning to talk about the complaint, climbed directly on top of the banyan tree. Anna Raju, who said that he will not come down without taking action against the accused, was persuaded by the fire force from Aluva to come down.

After coming down, Anna Raju asked the police to arrest the transgender women from other states who attacked her. They also alleged that the CI of Aluva East station misbehaved when they complained in this regard.

Meanwhile, the police informed that two cases have already been registered on the complaint and further action will be taken.
