Recently, Ivan Kuleshov, an expert in hardware transformation, published an article showing us his latest masterpiece. That is the successful transformation of the Apple M1 Mac mini, which abandons the original AC power supply, and can directly realize the network port power supply through the Power over Ethernet protocol, reducing external wiring and required sockets.
Kuleshov first removed the Ethernet connector from the Apple M1 Mac mini, and then used the magjack components used in previous projects to realize the Power over Ethernet protocol network port power supply.
It is worth mentioning that the power consumption of the M1 Mac mini is about 6W in the idle state, and the maximum power does not exceed 40W under the condition of full load. This is to realize the power supply of the Power over Ethernet protocol network port, so that the M1 Mac mini can work normally premise.

The project has gotten a serious response, 7 times higher than I expected.
I think it’s better to put everything on the site, I’m working on the article, and after that, I’ll do the video.
I promised more details, and I’ll drop… pic.twitter.com/JSxB71TvF2— Ivan Kuleshov (@Merocle) July 31, 2023
Kuleshov said that the description of the transformation project of M1 Mac mini will be announced later, and those who are interested can pay attention to it.
