Transforming Students Through Support and Encouragement: A Program Supported by Elected Officials and Associations

“For us, elected officials, it is extraordinary to find the students completely transformed in June,” enthuses Élisabeth Fromont, first deputy mayor and vice-president of the municipal social action center (CCAS).

The Coup de Pouce association, through Selma Brahimi, territorial delegate to the Coup de Pouce association, provides support, accompanies and evaluates the actions carried out at the end of the year.

premium Jean-Moulin college, in Chartres, deprived of a gymnasium since the start of the school year: parents and teachers are demanding “solutions”

These are supported and financed by the CCAS of Chartres, the Rotary clubs as well as the State through the prefecture. The charters were signed on Friday, November 10, by students, parents and facilitators.

The reading club (CLA) applies to kindergarten students, particularly at the Émile Zola school, for one hour three times a week.

A gain of confidence

The reading-writing club (Clé), for CP, will take place four times a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays), notably at the Maurice Carême school. Finally, for CE1, the Reading-Writing-Mathematics Club (Clém) will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“It’s support for children who have difficulties with fundamental learning,” says the first assistant. The visits to the clubs begin with a snack “to build confidence in the children, to convey to them a taste for sharing. This is very important for those who have difficulty expressing themselves. The activities carried out in the clubs will be supplemented by visits to the library”, declares Akram Drissi, in charge of the educational success program. Élisabeth Fromont also encouraged “to encourage children and take an interest in them to give them self-confidence”.

After more than a year of work, the Jean-Macé school, in Lucé, has reopened its doors

Advice was provided to awaken the students: “Stopping a story in the middle, making them remember the beginning of the story and making them imagine the sequel allows their development,” suggests Selma Brahimi.
