Czech Television has prepared a new documentary portrait of the exceptional personality of Czech film and theater actress Daniela Kolářová for Saturday’s broadcast. The list of roles that she played in more than fifty years of her acting career includes hundreds of items. She debuted in front of the camera at the age of twenty with a television film The end of a great epoch (1967) and in front of a film camera a year later with a film adaptation of Páral’s novel A private whirlwindwhere she played one of the main characters. In 1968, he appears in the fourth episode of the television series Marriages of convenience and in the same year he successfully graduates from Prague DAMU.
Half a century long career
After a short stint at the SK Neumann Theater, she joined the Vinohrady Theater, where she spent more than four dozen seasons. In addition to that, she also worked in the Prague Chamber Theatre, and still plays as a guest in Viola, Ungelt and other stages. For now, the last titles in her acting filmography are roles in Bethlehem light a Brothers. She is the recipient of the Alfréd Radok Award, the Thália Award for lifetime mastery in the field of drama, and the Karlovy Vary IFF President’s Award.

The new documentary was shot by director Petr Slavík. In addition to Kolářová, the film also features Hynek Bočan, Arnošt Goldflam, Vanda Hybnerová, Jan Svěrák, Zdeněk Svěrák, Lenka Vlasáková and of course Jaromír Hanzlíkwith whom the actress formed an acting duo for many years.

Kolářová has been one of the busiest Czech actresses for many years.
